About SharedOut

SharedOut is a Singapore app for HDB neighbourhoods. We help residents rent items from neighbours and book home-based services within about 500 metres of home, so the drill, the ladder, the trolley, the home bakery and the tutor down the corridor all get used instead of sitting idle.

Why we built SharedOut

Singapore's HDB estates already contain everything a neighbourhood needs, spread across thousands of homes. The problem is not supply, it is connection: the neighbour with a drill does not know the neighbour who needs one this weekend. SharedOut closes that distance, matching neighbours within a short walk of each other.

Renting instead of buying means less waste and fewer things stored at home. And every rental keeps money, skills and goodwill moving around the estate instead of out of it.

What we believe

• Neighbours are the most trustworthy marketplace there is, when identity, deposits and proof are built in.
• Hyperlocal beats global: within about 500 metres, handovers take minutes and relationships form.
• Side income should come from what you already own and what you are already good at.
• Sharing reduces waste. Every item that serves many homes is one that does not need to be bought by each of them.

How we keep it safe

Providers verify their identity with Singpass, deposits are pre-authorised through Stripe, handover photos are mandatory, and disputes are reviewed by humans. Read the full details on our Trust & Safety page.
